At my ordination just over a week ago, I was asked: “Will you be diligent in your study of the holy scriptures?” Diligent…rigorous, careful, thorough, persistent, zealous, dedicated, indefatigable… indefatigable! I love the image of exploring God’s Word day in and day out and yet despite the rigor, persistence, and zeal, being completely unable to be fatigued. Unable to be fatigued because God’s word of life, love, grace, and hope fills you up and nourishes you beyond your wildest imaging! I think this is truly a question to be asked of us all –
