I hold both a Master’s and Doctorate in Theological Studies and Religious Theology from Logos University in Jacksonville Florida.
I am an ongoing participant in the furthering education program of dispute resolution at The Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University in Malibu California as well as having completed California State accredited courses in Mediation, Divorce Mediation and Parenting Co-ordination from The Northern California Mediation Center in Marin County California.
I am also an active member of The American Counseling Association.
Blah blah blah blah…those are just my degrees; Really I am just a straight-forward mouthy impatient politically incorrect South Jersey boy who wakes-up every morning to make the individual life in transition, the couple standing at the crossroads, or the shared family in unchartered waters feel like they have a chance; that life can be about re-writing history, not re-paying the past.
“B” does not always have to come after “A;” Some days it is the difference between the decisions for where we want to be versus the discovery that life has made it obvious where we can no longer stay.
My background was organized church until one day I realized I had amassed a lot as a national voice, but changed nothing; I profited well from selling a God that was little more than the cover-up for a disconnect too many live within themselves. I was great at getting people to embrace religion, but not so great at helping them leave their closets and find the place where they fit in life. So I stopped.
I founded and organization called cause; a multi-faceted community action organization devoted to the spiritual, social, and economic freedom of human life. No church you need to join and no hierarchal religious figure you need to entrust your spiritual journey to. Just helping people find where they fit, and where God and life fits with them. I even wrote a most controversial book about it in 2015 entitled “The Cause Church.” (Amazon and kindle)
I DON’T CARE WHAT THE TREND IS; I BELIEVE THAT WHEN A PERSON FINDS
THEIR CAUSE, THEY FIND THEIR VOICE. MY JOB IS TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE
SOMETHING TO SAY.
Any of us only finds our purpose when we find the faces, places and spaces where we see ourselves in the problems that serve as the mirror of why we have been allowed to live.
My leadership advising scope has included Fortune 500 companies from Best-Buy and Lockheed-Martin all the way to the one-person owner small business.
At present, I am involved in the creation of a group solution program for couples going thru divorce and families becoming shared families post divorce. I call this program “Doing Divorce Better.” It is part of my lifeFIRM Wellness Collaborative I began forming in 2014 and will launch bigger in 2016.
Over my 30-plus years on the public stage as well as the private sector, I have been host to a variety of national events that have included both household name religious and political leaders.
I also host a weekly congregation called “The GATHERING;” An informal teaching setting that brings together people from every possible walk of life and religious/non-religious and sexual orientation. We share a meal, we share about life and then we go out and solve problems for the world around us.
For me, I am not building tribal institutionalism; I build people and movements.
My only interest is in making local people and local communities self-sustainable.
I work to reconcile, re-adjust, re-evaluate, disrupt, navigate, negotiate, dislodge and stretch what brings you to your most effective self; l help change the rules that can facilitate the kind of life you want to live.
I do this for Soccer Moms, Single Dad’s, and everyday people in conflict as easily as Rock Stars, A-list Professionals, CEO’s and small business owners.
Most of all…no one will ever know who I do this for, because aside from the raw strategical wisdom I give, also comes the discretion and anonymity that I give. I don’t have to name-drop to get clients or sound impressive at parties. There are no pictures of famous clients on my walls.
I MEAN, WHAT IS CHANGE ANYWAY?
CHANGE IS NOT HARD; TRYING TO SELL BULLSHIT IS HARD.
THERE IS NO BEING GOOD AT CHANGE; THERE IS ONLY REFUSING TO NOT BE GOOD AT BEING STUCK,
IDLE OR INFERIOR.
The only hypocrisy humans ever live, is the desire for things greater than the changes we are willing to make to get them. It is not a matter of can I or can’t I but only a matter of will I or won’t I? It is about changing participation with what is outdated, expired or disruptive. It is about giving my heart to something rather than just giving away my power.
That means there is no struggle with change; the only struggle is with accepting what I can no longer do the same way in the same moments. It is when my sentences can begin with “I” instead of “they and you.”
I am not here to fix you; you don’t need fixing anyway. My only true belief is that the single greatest act of societal change is when people place themselves in the driver’s seat of their own freedom.
I don’t do charity…I do capability. I am not after people with needs; I am after people with nothing to lose. I fight for the people who will fight for something bigger than just themselves.
I do not ask questions like, “What do you need”…I ask the question, “What can you do?” I do not care what your beliefs are; I only want to know, can your ideas move society forward? I do not care if you are degree-smart, if you are life stupid.
I am simply the person that speaks to your life path right now.
