The Recipe Box Café features healthy menus planned, prepared, and served by nutrition science students in the Quantity Food Production and Service course (NUTR 407). This course integrates each student’s nutrition, management, purchasing, organizational and food knowledge skills.

 

 

Students are supervised by faculty members in the Nutrition Sciences Department, and a professional chef aids in the production.If a reservation is made and not cancelled prior to seating, the future reservations will be cancelled until re-confirmed by the patron. A limited number of walk-in seats may be available but are not guaranteed

The first course, titled "The Providence of Moral Evil," will explore and evaluate Rudolf Steiner’s account of the provenience of moral evil by considering from his viewpoint a few examples from Marlowe, Shakespeare, Goethe, Dickens and Dostoyevsky. 

 

The second course, titled "The Focus and Forms of Liberation Theology," will explore the controversial emergence of liberation theology in the United States and Latin America, survey its main themes, evaluate the arguments of its proponents and opponents, and discuss its future in the 21st century. This course will be taught by Jon Nilson, PhD, professor emerita of theology, Loyola University Chicago.
